So here's the thing, I'm pretty annoyed that I hadn't heard of Anya Lipska prior to the release of A Devil Under the Skin, it's her third novel in her Kiszka and Kershaw series, and I really wish I had had the pleasure of the first two!

A Devil Under the Skin of course like all GOOD series novels, can be read as a stand-alone, but the characters in it are so well written, that I am dying to know how they got to where they are now, what experiences they have had in the past etc. In short, I'm kicking myself.

Natalie Kershaw, is suspended from Police duties after a fatal shooting, referred to a Police psychologist, she is not really interested in anything other than when she can get back to work. Unfortunately another mistake after a night drowning her sorrows in a local boozer ensures that she is off work longer than she first anticipated, and then she gets a call that changes everything.

Janusz Kiszka, is about to move in with his girlfriend Kasia after she has finally left her husband for him. Janusz can scarecly believe his luck but becomes increasingly concerned when she doesn't show up. A work colleague does nothing to dampen those fears when she calls Janusz wondering where Kasia is.

But Kasia is not the only person who has disappeared, her ex-husband Steve has also seemingly disappeared without a trace. Have Kasia's promises all been lies? Has she done a runner with her ex-husband?
Janusz decides to conduct an investigation alone, reluctant to involve the police, he remembers a female detective from his past; Natalie Kershaw. Knowing that she has been suspended from her duties following press reports after the shooting, Janusz is fairly certain he can get Natalie onside. But can she help him find Kasia, or will she want to involve the force?

A Devil Under the Skin is a fast paced novel with brilliant believable characters, a great plot, and a conclusion that leaves you hoping for the next novel in the series.

A Devil Under the Skin is available to buy now from Amazon online and all good book shops.
